And another thing ...
The latest news with my next-door neighbor, is that the GIANT pontoon boat or whatever it was, is GONE from the front yard. Yes, it was parked on the front yard. Trashy I tell ya. He also appears to be getting a new roof, so perhaps things are on their way up around here! Actually, most everyone in the area seems to keep their yard pretty clean. There are a few rentals around, but even those keep their grass mowed. The boat was just a huge eyesore... keep your fingers crossed that it's gone for good. If it comes back, I'll be sure to take a pic! (I haven't yet contacted the City of Stillwater to see what the ordinances are about those kinds of things ...)
Funny About My Neighborhood

So in my new neighborhood, there's the funniest thing. In many yards, there are these UGLY, and I do mean ugly, gas meters - right in the front yard. I don't know that I could buy a home with one of these in the FRONT yard! Luckily, mine's in the back ... and I still am thinking about hiding it somehow:

I was telling a friend, who also paints, isn't it wild how you start off with an idea to paint one thing, but by the time you've played with colors and shapes and textures, you end up painting something entirely different than what you intended? This is one of those - my intent, something calm, peaceful ... with just 2 or 3 colors, like light blue and maybe yellow ... this is what happened instead:
